IUYA Community Zine - Community Protects Community

Introducing IUYA’s first zine: ‘Community Protects Community: A grassroots guide to supporting immigrants’! Click on the button below to download it, then print it off. Then, scroll down for assembly instructions!

How To Fold Your Zine

Download the above image, print it on one sheet of paper, and follow the directions below.

1. Fold your sheet of paper in half (hotdog style).

2. Fold your paper in half again (hamburger style).

3. Fold your paper in half once again (hamburger style).

4. Unfold your page. It will now have eight sections, and each section will be one page of the zine.

5. Fold your page in half (hamburger style) and cut the center fold halfway down the page (to where it meets the horizontal fold).

6. Unfold and check your zine against the graphic below to ensure correct placement of the cut.

7. Fold your page in half (hamburger style) and push the sides together so that the center where the cut creates a diamond-shaped gap. Push those two sides down against each other so that the page is folded in half.

8. From there, fold in half again on the fold line, and your zine will be complete!

See the graphic below for visual instructions, or watch this video for a step-by-step guide. (The instructions in the video are a little different than the ones here and in the graphic, but they create a beautiful zine all the same!) Happy zine-making from IUYA! 🙂
